We utilise a mixture of contemporary and classic fiction, a variety of text books and ICT resources. All pupils are encouraged to read from a wide selection of novels, plays, short stories and poems and engage in a varied range of written, oral and practical tasks. Key Stage 3: Pupils are given the opportunity to develop and expand the knowledge and skills they have acquired in primary school. Pupils follow a varied programme of study which allows them to express themselves in the three main areas of the subject; reading, writing and oracy. Key Stage 4: We follow the WJEC syllabuses in English, English Literature and Media Studies at GCSE. Pupils who are functioning below a Level three are entered for the WJEC Entry Level qualification.
